Save Money by Unplugging Energy Vampires

Energy Vampires are appliances or anything with a cord that you plug in that even though the item is turned off still use a small amount of electricity.  The electricity they may use can be standby power or as simple as the clock on the DVD player. 

You could save hundreds of dollars on your electricity bill by consistently unplugging virtually everything in your house that gets shut off.  For example got a treadmill that is plugged in and being used as a clothes rack?  That piece of exercise equipment is costing you money even though you aren't' turning it on.

Got smart phones and iPods that are constantly needing charging?  What about that huge flat screen TV that you have plugged in all the time?  Yep those are all wasting electricity and your money. 

The average U.S. household spends $100 per year to power devices while they are off (or in standby mode).  That is average, your home could be spending or saving much more if you have many devices plugged in.  Several people have tried an experiment even one on Oprah where they unplugged everything, and I mean everything and they saved anywhere from $45 to $200 dollars a month. 

Maybe you should try your own test and see if you can save money by unplugging everything in your house.

Fast & Easy Lasagna Dinner Recipe - No Noodle Boiling

I have a fast and easy Lasagna recipe that was given to me by my mother.  You don't have to pre-cook the Lasagna noodles or boil them for additional time before you make the Lasagna recipe.  This dinner recipe saves you time and we all know that time equals money, so it kinda saves you money.                                 
                              
                       

Quick & Easy Lasagna Dinner Recipe
Ingredients:
6-8 Lasagna Noodles
1 (32 oz.) Jar of Spaghetti Sauce
1 16 oz. Container of Cottage Cheese
1 lb. of Cooked Ground Beef
2 cups of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.  Pour 1/2 of the spaghetti sauce in bottom of dish.  Lay uncooked noodles on top of sauce; add layers of 1/2 of the cottage cheese and ground beef.  Add another layer of the same (from noodles to ground beef.)  Pour remaining sauce on top of mixture (spreading out with a spoon.)
Bake for 1 hour.  Approximately 20 minutes before done, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake until cheese is melted.  Cool for 5 to 10 minutes; cut and serve.


This recipe can be edited if you like a more traditional Italian Lasagna taste you can replace the cottage cheese with Ricotta cheese.

I have used this fast and easy lasagna recipe for family get togethers, family reunions and pot luck dinners.  It always goes over well and I have had a few people ask for the recipe.
